Cardboard box kittens in need of loving home

Four kittens that were dumped outside an animal sanctuary in the middle of the night are in need of new homes.

The kittens were found in a cardboard box at the gates of The Wednesbury Sanctuary in the early hours of the morning, and were thought to have been there all night.

Joyce Clarke, from the sanctuary, said: "It is a terrible thing for someone to just leave them there, especially when we think they had been out all night.

"People should think of getting their cats spayed first to save things like this from happening - there is no excuse.

"But unfortunately this type of thing happens a lot, which is upsetting.

"There are three boys and one girl who are all litter trained and had flea treatment and are ready to go to new homes."

The kittens were checked over by Mrs Clarke, who is also an animal welfare nurse at the sanctuary.

She has kept the kittens inside the sanctuary with her to get to know their personalities better.

She continued: "They are extremely friendly and loving and like to purr a lot.

"A home with children may not be best for them, but it would depend on the circumstances.

"Their ideal home would be a home for life. Somewhere they would be loved and kept until that person passes on."

Anyone who would like to provide a home for the kittens, or any of the sanctuary's other cats, can call Mrs Clarke on 0121 5025027 to get more information.

The sanctuary is always on the lookout for donations of food and any offers will be gratefully received.
