Car smashes into conservatory

A car smashed through a wall and into a conservatory in West Bromwich.

The driver of the Honda Civic was taken to hospital following the crash in Francis Street, at around 10.50am yesterday, but was not seriously hurt.

He is believed to have lost control of the car before careering into the garden.

An elderly couple were in the house at the time.

The car came to rest in the conservatory, just feet from their lounge.

Crews from West Bromwich Fire Station attended to help recover the car and make sure the house was safe.

The crash site was sealed off by firefighters with a structural assessment of the property due to be carried out.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived to treat two passengers in the car for minor injuries.
