Mourners raise funds in milkman's memory
Mourners of a popular Midland milkman who died in December have raised £1,400 in donations in his memory.
Kieron Moss, aged 64, delivered milk around his home village of Wombourne for 30 years and although mourners at his funeral on January 12 were limited, they lined the route clapping, throwing flowers and raising bottles and glasses.
His widow Jan Moss, aged 61, decided that a fitting tribute to her husband and father-of-two would be to ask for donations for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Jan, a private carer, said: "We were both going to retire and hoped to travel.
"Although we lived together for 29 years we finally married on October 12, 2019 at Codsall Registrar's Office.
"Obviously numbers were restricted otherwise the funeral would have been massive.
"People lined the streets to see him taken on his milk float.
"I understand that more than 420 people watched the funeral online.
"We will have a big wake when we can and pandemic restrictions are finally lifted.
"I am over the moon by the donations and had about 200 cards and so many flowers that I ran out of vases after his death.
"I decided that the Air Ambulance was a good cause as it relies on donations.
"It is a really worthwhile cause and I think he would have been proud of the response."
