Anson House, on Old Lammascote Road, near Stafford Leisure Centre, is currently in use as a warehouse and offices with an existing two-bedroom flat on site.

Plans have now been put forward to convert the two-storey building into 11 one-and-two-bedroom flats.

A design statement submitted as part of the application to Stafford Borough Council said: “The size and scale of the proposed apartments is typical for the conversion of office into residential use.

"The one beds are both designed for two person capacity and range in area from 46-51 sq m. The two beds are a mixture of three and four person capacity and range in area from 57-73 sq m

“The development will utilise the existing car parking to the frontage of the site. The use of the existing unmarked car parking and deliveries area to the rear of the site will see demarked car parking spaces.

"The proposal aims to utilise the existing 11 car parking spaces and to create an additional five, totalling 16 car parking spaces provided in line with the council’s parking standards for this use type.

“The proposed development is to make use of the existing building with minor amendments to its existing appearance. The majority of the building’s proposed changes to the appearance occur through the replacement of windows and introduction to small areas of soft landscaping.

“The proposed change of use will maintain the majority of the tarmac car parking and access roads whilst creating more small soft landscaped areas around the perimeter of building to provide a more residential and pleasant feel to the site.”
