Boy, 7, dies in A38 collision near Lichfield - police appeal for witnesses
A boy aged seven has died at the scene of a car crash on the A38 near Lichfield yesterday morning (Saturday, March 7)
Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A38 near Lichfield yesterday morning (Saturday, March 7).
Officers were called to a report of a collision between a car and a child on the A38 at the junction with the A5206 at around 5am. Sadly, the child, a boy aged 7, died at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.To help with the investigation, the A38 was closed in both directions between the A5148 and A5 junctions, although it has now reopened.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators. At 4.20pm National Highways announced that investigation work at the scene of the fatality has concluded and that the roads were reopened, with traffic beginning to ease.
