Police launch investigation after car crashes into garden wall of Wednesbury home
Three garden walls have been damaged after a car crashed in Wednesbury.
The crash happened on Freeman Road, in the Friar Park area of the town, on Saturday afternoon.
Photographs taken from the scene showed a black BMW resting over a garden wall, with damage sustained to its front bumper, as well as bricks from the wall scattered on the ground.
Police say two people ran from the car and they are trying to trace them.
No one was believed to be injured in the crash – but there has been significant damage to the walls.
West Bromwich Fire Service tweeted at 3.33pm that fire crews were in attendance.
Kevin Williams, 62, whose wall was damaged in the crash, said: "I was just sitting in the front room having a coffee, we had just come back from shopping. Then all we heard was a big bang.
"There's a big speed bump outside the house. The car knocked down our gates and wall, as well as our two neighbour's walls.
"All we heard was this big bang. There's been a lot of damage.
"It's just lucky no one was walking up the road at the time – they could have been killed. Walls and gates you can fix."
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Freeman Road, in Wednesbury, to reports a car had hit a wall shortly before 3pm on Saturday, March 20.
"We believe two people ran from the car and we are working to identify them.
"Fortunately no one was reportedly injured but there was significant damage to the wall."
