Two people taken to hospital after M6 crash between lorry and car
Two people were taken to hospital after a dramatic crash on the M6 in the Black Country.
Emergency services were called to the M6 near junction 8 at around 7.45am on Saturday.
Photos from the scene shared by the fire service show a car badly damaged, after the collision which involved a car and lorry.
Two people from the car were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called following a collision between a car and a lorry on the M6 near junction eight just after 7.45am today.
"Two people from the car have been taken to hospital although fortunately their injuries are not believed to be serious. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."
Smethwick and West Bromwich fire stations shared images of the damaged car on their Twitter accounts.
West Bromwich said: "Just attended this road traffic collision on motorway, thankfully no one was seriously hurt, if you are unfortunate enough to breakdown on the motorway please get out you vehicle and move to a place of safety."
Smethwick added: "Collision attended this morning by ourselves and West Bromwich fire station. Only travel if it is an essential journey."
