Man dies in Birmingham fire
A man has died in a fire at a property in the West Midlands this morning.
Emergency services were called to Church Hill Road, in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, at around 5.20am.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was confirmed dead at the scene.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Crews arrived at the scene this morning to find a man, who had been involved in a fire at a property.
“Unfortunately, it quickly became clear nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased on scene.”
One ambulance and two paramedic officers attended the scene.
West Midlands Fire Service has been approached for comment.
