No further coronavirus deaths in region's hospitals
No new coronavirus deaths have been confirmed in hospitals in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Birmingham in the latest figures – for the second day in a row.
It means the total number of Covid deaths in the region's hospitals remains at 7,591.
A further 1,436 have died in care homes in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Birmingham after testing positive for coronavirus, with a further 22 deaths confirmed in the region's care homes on Tuesday.
NHS England confirmed a further five deaths on Friday in the country's hospitals.
Overall, a total of 801 people have died at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, 740 at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, and 722 at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
At the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust a total of 1,715 have died, and at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS trust 1,377 have died.
And a total of 2,612 have died at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The trust runs the Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals.
A total of 49,682,934 vaccinations have been carried out across England to date – including first and second doses.
In the Midlands, 5,924,133 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been administered, while 3,515,470 second doses have been carried out.
The data includes vaccinations carried out between December 8 and May 20.
