Tragedy as boy, 13, found dead

A teenage boy has died suddenly at a house in Bridgnorth.

Police today said the death of the 13-year-old is not suspicious.

An ambulance was called to a property in the town in the early hours of Sunday morning to reports of a cardiac arrest.

The boy is believed to have been a year nine pupil at Oldbury Wells School.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman Emily Cleland said: "At 00:45am on Sunday 11 December, West Mercia Police were informed by the ambulance service that a 13-year-old boy was in cardiac arrest at an address in Bridgnorth.

"The boy was treated at the scene but was sadly pronounced deceased.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the boy.

"A file is being prepared for the coroner."
