Schoolboy trapped under bus in Wednesbury left with serious injuries

A schoolboy was seriously injured when he became trapped under a bus in West Bromwich.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Crankhall Lane at 4pm this afternoon.

The child was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Diane Stamp who runs nearby Stampy's Cafe told how she tried to help by speaking to the boy.

"He was trapped. I called my daughter who called an ambulance. We just kept talking to him," she said.

The road remained closed last night while emergency services were at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101.
