Body of woman, 28, found in hotel room of Lichfield Premier Inn

The body of a 28-year-old woman was found in a Premier Inn hotel in Lichfield today and police say they are treating the death as 'unexplained'.

Police and paramedics were called to the hotel at 1.20pm this afternoon after the sudden death of a woman.

The woman's body was discovered in a hotel room at the Swan Road location.

Her family have been informed of the death..

Formal identification has not yet taken place.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death."

Officers will now carry out inquiries on behalf of HM Coroner.
