Boy, 13, hit by car in Stafford

A 13-year-old boy had to be taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Stafford.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at around 4.15pm on Tuesday at Tixall Road, on the junction with Clifton Drive.

The incident involved a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance with a reported leg injury.

Chris Kowalik, from West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called just before 4.20pm. There was an incident between a car and a push bike.

"There was a young boy with a leg injury. We sent a rapid response vehicle. He was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital."

Anyone with any information about the car and its driver, or who witnessed the crash, is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101.
