PICTURED: Woman cut free as two vehicles overturn in three-car smash in Gornal Wood
Three people have been injured, including a woman who had to be cut free from her vehicle, in a three-car smash in Gornal Wood in which two of the vehicles overturned.
Fire crews received a call to Tansey Green Road at around 6pm yesterday evening after the crash left two cars on their sides and another suffering damage.
Chris Kowalik, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "A woman passenger in one of the cars had a broken arm. She was trapped and, with the help of the fire service, was freed through the vehicle's front windscreen. She was immobilised and taken to Russells Hall Hospital."
A 74-year-old driver of one of the cars involved was taken to Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital where he was believed to be treated for shock.
A male passenger in another of the cars involved was also taken to Russells Hall. Both men were described by the ambulance service as 'walking wounded.
Another two male drivers were uninjured.
Police cordoned off the area and adjourning Smithy Lane until around 8pm and swept up broken glass from the road.
West Midlands fire crews also attended the scene with one fire engine, leaving shortly before 8pm.
Two fire crews from Dudley and one from Brierley Hill attended the scene.
