M54 delays as crash leaves lorry wedged on embankment

Drivers faced delays after a crash involving an HGV on the M54 this morning.

It happened at 5.30am on the westbound carriageway between junction 2 for Wolverhampton and junction 3 for Albrighton. It shut one lane which was expected to remain closed until around 11am.

Joe Wilson from Highways England said: "The HGV got itself caught up on the embankment. They have had to have a secondary recovery operation as the truck is wedged on the embankment.

"It is due to be over by 11am."
