Boy, 11, injured in Wolverhampton crash

Two people, including a boy of 11, were injured in crashes in the Black Country this afternoon.

The youngster was left with a head injury when he was hit by a car on Cannock Road, near to its junction with Park Lane.

Police were called by the ambulance service at about 5.30pm.

The collision blocked the junction with Prosser Street and caused tailbacks around the city centre.

The road is sealed off.

Meanwhile, a man in his 20s was seriously injured following a three-car smash in Smethwick.

The driver of a Volkswagen Golf suffered pelvic, head and back injuries after the crash at the junction of Raglan Road and Cape Hill.

He was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital along with another man, aged 19, who suffered leg injuries.

Raglan Road was closed by police following the crash at 4.15pm, causing delays for motorists.
