A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 16-year-old boy.

Walsall teenager Ben Morutare was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday.

An 18-year-old man from Dudley was today continuing to help police with their inquiries after he was detained at 10pm last night.

Ben, from Coalpool, died from stab injuries after an 18th birthday party at Smethwick Home Guard & Old Comrades Club in Smethwick.

He was found on grass near to the club on Oldbury Road at around 12.45am.

He later died from the stab wound to his leg at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Det Insp Gary Plant, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have received some information in connection with the inquiry, however we continue to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who has information to contact us.

"This is a complex investigation, particularly as there were a large number of people at the party at the time."

The arrest comes after the Express & Star revealed yesterday that the social club outside which the teenager was killed may be bulldozed to make way for flats.

Owner Bal Sangha has revealed she is considering selling the pub or even knocking it down to make way for flats.
