The wide range of apprenticeships in the Black Country will be showcased in the week

It is working with the Black Country Consortium to showcase opportunities in the area during the week that runs from February 8 to 14.

There are two free Learn Live sessions on Tuesday, February 9 – one aimed at students and one for teachers.

The students' session will feature apprenticeship providers across the Black Country and includes information from West Midlands Police, Aston University, colleges including Halesowen, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Walsall, local training providers including Juniper, PTP, The Development Manager, Nova Training, In-Comm and BCTG and local employers including HomeServe, SPV and Walsall Council

The teachers' session is to help teachers explore apprenticeship, traineeships and T Level. It includes a presentation from Tina Patel from ASK and a montage of learner voices explaining why they chose the apprenticeship route as their entry into employment.

The student event, which will run from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, has been set up because the Ladder for the Black Country team recognises that young people may be unsure about their next steps after their transition into post-16 education and that choosing the right career or pathway is an important step.

The Learn Live event is designed to raise awareness of the various options available through the apprenticeship route.
