Armed men attack school leavers in Sedgley park
A group of teenagers celebrating leaving secondary school were attacked by armed men in the Black Country.
The youths, understood to be Dormston School leavers, were set upon in a park in Sedgley on Friday evening.
One of the attackers was armed with a metal bar and hit a 16-year-old in the back of the head.
Police and paramedics were called after the violence happened in Sedgley Hall Farm Park, off Northway.
West Midlands Police said nobody was seriously injured. An investigation is underway but no arrests have been made.
The incident comes after a spate of vandalism and anti-social behaviour in Sedgley which has led to police issuing dispersal notices across the town.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating after a group of youths were attacked in Sedgley just after 9pm.
"A 16-year-old received a cut to the back of his head after being hit with a metal bar. Noone was seriously injured.
"The group sought refuge in a nearby pub as emergency services were called.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
