Police probe as man found dead at Bloxwich house
Police are investigating after a man was found dead at a house in Walsall.
The man, aged 51, was found dead after police were called to Broad Lane, Bloxwich, on Monday morning.
His death is being treated as unexplained.
Officers went into the house and found the man collapsed after the alarm was raised by neighbours at around 10.15am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The house, which is around 150 metres away from the junction with the A4124 and the Sir Robert Peel pub, was sealed off as forensic investigators examined the scene throughout Monday.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "I'd met him a few times when we were drinking in the Robert Peel pub, so I'm really sad to find out that he's died.
"It's also a bit of a shock to see all this police out here, but I hope it's nothing serious"
Another nearby resident added: "I've got to say I'm really shocked because I saw him the other day and he seemed fine.
"He's also younger than me, so it kind of brings it home."
Detective Inspector Laura Harrison, of West Midlands Police, said: “At this stage the man’s death is being treated as unexplained and we’ve launched an investigation to understand what’s happened.
“If anyone saw or heard anything suspicious last night or this morning in the area I would urge them to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting log 1125 from May 24.
