Man arrested after reports of elderly residents in Wolverhampton being scammed
A man has been arrested after reports elderly people being scammed in Wolverhampton.
The 35-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and fraud.
It comes after officers received reports of a male trying to scam elderly residents in the Newbridge area of the city on Friday and Saturday.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and fraud.
"He has been released on police bail while our enquiries are ongoing."
Sharing the incident on Twitter, St Peter's Police said: "A male has been arrested today [Saturday] for robbery by officers on the team.
"This was in relation to a male trying to scam elderly residents in the Newbridge area of Wolverhampton over the last two days.
"A great arrest by the team."
