Councillor Paul Appleby, who represents Bushbury North, Wolverhampton, has been working with the council to protect Moseley Road.

It comes after the area saw an increase in fly-tipping in recent months – with councillors determined to tackle the issue.

Councillor Appleby has also been working with South Staffordshire District Council due to it being on the border of the areas. He said: “I’m delighted to have secured new CCTV for Moseley Road to tackle the ongoing problem.

“Fly-tipping is not a victimless crime. Landowners are often blocked from accessing their land and the taxpayer is left with paying clean-up costs.

“I am hopeful that the addition of CCTV and extra signage will help catch those perpetrating this crime. At the very least, I’d like for this action to deter people from fly-tipping.”
