Bus driver attacked with knife amid surge in 'incidents'
A bus driver has been attacked with a knife amid a surge of incidents - prompting a step-up in patrols across Smethwick.
Safer Transport Police said the incident took place on the 87 bus along Cape Hill in the area on January 9 at 1.15pm.
Three further incidents, involving violence and threats, have since been recorded against transport staff in the Cape Hill area.
The driver wasn't seriously injured in the attack and patrols have been increased – with an image of the offender released.
