Teen charged after mobile phone trades turn into knifepoint carjackings
A teenager has been charged after several people were lured by an offer to trade mobile phones but were robbed of their cars at knifepoint in Wolverhampton.
The 17-year-old has been charged with two counts of robbery, three counts of possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery.
The boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
A 16-year-old who was also arrested in connection with the robberies has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
