Man arrested after series of domestic assaults in West Midlands

A man has been arrested after a series of domestic assaults which left three women injured in the West Midlands.

Several incidents were reported to officers in Solihull, which left one women with broken ribs and a broken arm.

It saw an incident in Francis Road where a man reportedly threw a brick at two women at 10.30pm on Friday.

The man gestured he had a gun to the women before he got back into his car and drove away from the scene.

Several more incidents involving the same group of people took place, including a head on collision on Castle Lane.

Three women were injured in these assaults, with one woman having suffered broken ribs and a broken arm.

They have all since been discharged from hospital.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested by officers on the M42 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Sproson from the force’s Public Protection Unit, said: "Although we have a man in custody, we are still urging anyone who witnessed any of these incidents to contact us as a matter of urgency.

"We take domestic assaults incredibly seriously, and especially during lockdown where we have seen a rise in these types of crime, we are doing all we can to investigate and apprehend those offenders."
