Warning after livestock thefts
A spate of livestock thefts has been reported across Staffordshire.
Officers are urging people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity surrounding livestock.
Offenders have stolen and in some cases killed sheep, cattle and pigs, with four incidents reported in Lichfield in April, June, August and September last year.
Other farm locations in the Moorlands and East Staffordshire have also reported incidents.
Most recently, officers were called to Perton Mill Farm, on Bridgnorth Road, South Staffordshire, to reports of a theft of sheep.
Police attended and discovered one ram and three sheep had been stolen, valued at approximately £300.
Two men aged 29 and 24 were later arrested on suspicion of theft after being stopped by police on the on A454 at Swadlincote.
Four sheep were found in the boot of the vehicle.
