CCTV appeal after man mugged on Dudley footbridge

Police are searching for these two men after a man was mugged in Dudley town centre.

A man had his bank card and "a large quantity" of cash stolen during the attack which happened on the footbridge over Duncan Edwards Way yesterday.

Two men approached the victim on the bridge between Trindle Road and Claughton Road, shortly after 10am.

One of the muggers restrained the man while the other took the money and card before both fled along Watsons Green Road in the Kates Hill direction.

West Midlands Police have now released a CCTV image of two men suspected of being behind the attack.

In an alert posted on West Midlands Police's WM Now service, they said: "Officers from C unit response Brierley Hill are currently investigating a robbery.

"It occurred on the foot bridge between Trindle Road and Claughton Road, Dudley, at about 10.10am on Monday, December 16.

"Two offenders approached the victim on the bridge, one restrained him whilst the other stole a large quantity of cash and a bank card. They then made off onto Kates Hill along Watsons Green Road.

"We have conducted CCTV enquiries and attached is an image of the two suspects that we would like to speak to."

Anyone who recognises the men are asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime number 20DY/296565G/19.
