The young Cocker Spaniels, worth around £750 each, were taken from whelping boxes in a pen in Maypole Fields, Cradley Heath, while the owners were out of the house.

Jewellery and electrical equipment were also stolen during the raid, which happened at around 5pm last Friday.

The puppies are all micro-chipped and police have appealed for anyone who is offered a Cocker Spaniel for sale to get in touch with them urgently.

Detective Inspector Nigel Smith said: "I would also like to hear from anyone in the Maypole Fields area who saw anything suspicious.

"We know there was a black Vectra car in the vicinity at the time of the break-in."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
