Wednesbury armed police raid: Man charged with possession of imitation firearm as 'replica musket' found

A man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm after an armed police raid on a house in Wednesbury.

Police had been called to the address on Short Street yesterday morning after reports of a woman being threatened with a weapon just after 6.30am.

At around 9.25am, officers moved in and made an arrest.

Today, West Midlands Police said unemployed Michael Hill, 48. of Short Street, was appearing before Dudley Magistrates Court today charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The force said an 'ornamental-type replica musket' had been recovered.
