Passenger stabbed in face by robber on number 74 bus

A bus passenger was stabbed in the face as he had his phone snatched from his hand.

The victim, aged 28, had the handset taken from him by a woman on the top deck of the number 74.

Police released these images of the two suspects

After she had taken the phone, a man approached the victim and stabbed him once in the side of the face and once in the arm.

The pair got off the bus and fled the scene. It happened as the bus travelled along the Soho Road in Handsworth, outside KFC.

The number 74 bus travels through Birmingham, Handsworth, West Bromwich, Great Bridge and Dudley.

The victim, who is from Handsworth, needed surgery, but the injuries were not described as serious.

Police today released images of two suspects wanted over the robbery, which happened just after midnight on Sunday.
