Walsall terror charges: Accountant in court on funding claim

Two men from Walsall have appeared in court today charged with helping to fund terrorism.

Accountant Maruf Uddin, aged 26, an accountant from Earl Street, denied arranging funds or property for purposes of terrorism, when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Mohammed Atiqur Khan, 27, a warehouse distributor from Buckle Close, offered no plea to two charges of arranging funds or property for purposes of terrorism.

Both have been bailed to reappear at The Old Bailey on April 1.

They were held in January and charged yesterday.

Two other men from Walsall, also arrested as part of the same investigation, have been remanded in custody by a court.
