Married Dave and Chev Cooke, aged 42 and 46 respectively, from Wolverhampton, were found in a car on Cat and Kittens Lane in Bushbury on Wednesday lunchtime.

People living near to where the bodies were discovered have spoken of their shock.

Scott Faulkner, who lives in the closest home to the scene in Gatcombe Close, said: "A friend of mine who lives a couple of roads back messaged me to say had I heard the news.

"After looking it up online I went to look out of my conservatory and I could see the police parked up by the golf club.

"I have been shocked by it all. This is really a very nice and quiet area. It is just shocking to hear that two people have done that, and that a dog had been in the car too."

Officers are not revealing how the pair died.

Today West Midlands Police spokeswoman Kate Baker said: "The post mortem examinations are complete and their deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

"The matter has now been referred to the coroner."
