The cabbie was hit several times during the assault outside Costcutter, Dudley Port, at around 9.30pm on Thursday, January 28.
The driver had been ferrying two male passengers when he noticed one of the men jumping around without a seatbelt on and was forced to pull over.
However, after stopping, one of the passengers hit the 36-year-old driver several times, leaving him with minor injuries. Both men then fled into the shop as the driver called the police.
One month on from the attack police have released this CCTV image of two men they want to speak to.
