Van driver arrested after smashing into city centre bus shelter while twice drink drive limit

A van driver has been arrested after smashing into a city centre bus shelter while more than twice the drink drive limit.

The crash happened in Bilston Street outside Wolverhampton Central Police Station at 5.32pm today.

The driver was recorded with 72 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is set at 35 micrograms.

Nobody was injured in the crash.
