Leslie Marks, 66, was crossing Amblecote High Street at the junction with Brettell Lane when he was struck by a red Vauxhall Corsa.

Police say it drove away from the scene, before returning later. A man aged 25 was then arrested and released on bail.

Today police said Mr Marks, from Wordsley, was hit by a second vehicle as he lay in the road, but that the vehicle did not stop.

Sgt Alan Wood, from the collision investigation unit, said: "We believe the second car was a black 4x4 type vehicle, possibly a BMW X5.

"I would urge the driver of this vehicle, or any passengers within it, to make contact with me as soon as possible."

"This is a difficult time for the family and our thoughts are with them. I continue to appeal anyone with any information about this incident to get in touch."

The tragedy happened at around 6.50pm on November 29.
