Kaylee Wildman was 17 when the attack happened as she walked home from a post-Christmas night out with friends in Wednesbury.

She had been walking on the Walsall Road and into Brunswick Park Road when she was approached by the man, who forced her to walk into Wood Green Cemetery, adjacent to Brunswick Park.

He threatened to stab her if she did not comply, and then raped her.

The attacker told her not to look at him and began to cry, saying he did not know what he was doing.

Kaylee escaped and raise the alarm at a nearby petrol station.

Today, a £5,000 reward was put up by Crimestoppers in an attempt to catch the attacker, who struck at around 11pm on December 26, 2004.

Kaylee, now 28, said today: "It is massively important that I can finally put a close to this incident and see justice done.

"I am continuously in fear of coming into contact with the offender without knowing, or something happening to another woman as he has not yet been locked away.

"I have suffered with post-traumatic stress disorder as a direct result of the offence.

"I have only just completed treatment for this and am trying to move on with my life but I feel I cannot overcome what happened until someone is identified and held to account for what they did.

"There could be people out there who suspect their friend or even their family member is responsible. Were they acting odd at the time? Were they upset or evasive on that Boxing Day in December 2004?

"I have waived my anonymity because I want to be able to show the public how this affected me and how desperate I am to find the culprit.

"I'm a real person whose life has been turned upside down by this – please help me get justice."

Pauline Hadley, regional manager for Crimestoppers in the West Midlands, said: "This was a horrific attack on a young girl, which has haunted her for many years.

"It is essential that the person responsible is brought to justice so Kaylee can finally get on with her life. We also want to ensure that this individual cannot strike again and make another woman suffer as Kaylee has.

"There are people out there who know who this man is and I would urge you to do the right thing."

The attacker was described as being between the ages of 17 and 20 at the time of the incident, and will now be in his late 20s or early 30s.

He was wearing a black hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms and spoke with a local 'Wednesbury' accent.
