Kynan Wilson-Jones, of Swanfield Road, Wordsley, was arrested following the smash in Siviters Lane at around 11.20pm on Thursday.

West Midlands Police said Wilson-Jones had been bailed to appear before Sandwell Magistrates Court on December 17.

Officers said the 27-year-old had run from the crash but returned to the scene a short time later.

Two fire engines were also called to the scene following the smash.

Spokesman Pawan Dhande said the gas supply had to be isolated as part of the damaged wall was leaning on the metre.

"Two fire engines and 10 firefighters attended. There was no-one trapped inside the vehicle so crews just made all of the damaged cars safe," he said.

"The report was to a car which had collided with a garden wall and three stationary vehicles."

West Midlands Police spokesman Deb Edmonds confirmed Wilson-Jones had been charged and would appear at the magistrates court next month.
