A new bubble tea store, Bubblycious, has opened at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre.

It is the independent company’s first venture into the West Midlands and is another addition to the food and beverage options at the Brierley Hill complex, following on from family-run eatery The Indian Tavern Bar & Grill, which opened at The Waterfront in November.

Founded in 2019 by Rameez Syed and his family, Bubblycious quickly set up its first store in Northampton after falling in love with the refreshing concept and taste of bubble tea.

Visitors to the new store on the lower mall near Waterstones can buy a selection of authentic Taiwanese fruit-infused and milk-based bubble teas.

Each drink is topped off with Popping boba, tiny balls full of fruit juices, which add a different texture to the drink.

Visitors can also get creative by mixing up their own flavour combinations to make a unique brew. All the drinks are 100 per cent vegetarian, dairy free and only use natural fruit sugars.

Director Mr Syed said: “Merry Hill is the perfect place to open up our first store in the region, bringing our colourful fruit and milk-based bubble tea flavours to the West Midlands."

Duncan Burns, marketing manager at Merry Hill, said: “The sweet treats and fruity brews available at Bubblycious is yet another exciting addition coming into the centre, bringing even more great flavour experiences for our shoppers to try.

“We have even more exciting news to share with our visitors over the coming weeks, with a number of new brands opening at the centre in the near future.”

Steve Hargreaves, operations manager at Merry Hill, added: “Our teams continue to work hard to ensure everyone can enjoy a safe return back to the centre and we’ve also created a new outdoor dining area by Eat Central, which our visitors can enjoy.”
