One woman treated after crews tackle house fire

A Staffordshire woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire.

Crews from Cannock and Lichfield fire stations were called to the fire at a property on Hill Lane in Burntwood after being alerted to the fire at 2.06pm on Tuesday.

After arriving at the scene, the two appliances and 10 crew worked to extinguish the fire, which was believed to have been started accidentally.

An ambulance crew from West Midlands Ambulance service treated one woman for smoke inhalation, but she was discharged at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire Service said: "We were called at 2.06pm to reports of a fire on Hill Lane in Burntwood.

"We had two appliances and 10 crew from Cannock and Lichfield fire services attend the scene with an officer, arriving at 2.20pm.

"The fire was extinguished at 2.29pm and crews have said they believe it to be an accidental ignition.

"A woman was treated at the scene by ambulance crews and the scene was secured and the crews left at 3.30pm."

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance attended the scene and, on arrival, we discovered one patient, a woman, who was assessed for the effects of smoke inhalation and was discharged at the scene."
