M6 car blaze causes delays in Staffordshire
Drivers heading north on the M6 were facing delays in Staffordshire after a car caught fire on the motorway.
One lane of the motorway was closed for two hours after the white 4x4 caught fire on the inside lane between junctions 11a and 12.
A motorway surveillance camera showed flames leaping from the engine as two people took refuge on a nearby grass verge.
Two lanes of the road were closed for around an hour before one lanes was reopened at 10am, leaving motorists facing delays from Junction 11 at Cannock.
The motorway was back to normal by 11am.
Further down the motorway near Birmingham, a collision involving a lorry caused heavy traffic on the northbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 6.
And congestion has now eased on the M5, where there were hour long delays southbound between junctions 4 and 5 after a crash between a lorry and a van.
