And with a staggering 602 horsepower and a top speed in excess of 200mph it is guaranteed to make their friends green with envy.

The bright green Lamborghini is the latest addition to the fleet of Wolverhampton-based vehicle hire firm specialweddingcars.com and set them back a whopping £196,000.

While it is largely aimed at those wanting to arrive in style to a wedding or prom, it could just as easily be booked for a trip to the shops.

It has been licensed by Wolverhampton council who believe it to be the first supercar to be registered as a private hire vehicle in the entire country

Heidi Warke, who runs specialweddingcars.com with her sister-in-law Melissa Warke, said: "The Lamborghini is really something for the groom or the best man.

"Everyone says it is the bride's day, a wedding day, but it is nice for the men involved to have something for themselves.

The new company's first customer was Floyd Mayweather

"That is where we expect to get most custom from weddings and proms.

"But if anyone wanted to book it to the train station or whenever then that is fine - but there is a minimum charge of £349 per hour."

Heidi first used the Lamborghini to drive her cousin to prom and it was having witnessed police inspecting hire vehicles that she realised a licence would be required.

She added: "It was just my cousin and we were not being paid and once I made that clear everything was fine.

"But every other vehicle that had been hired was being stopped and as we had received prom bookings we decided to check if a licence was required."

Council bosses confirmed a private hire licence is required where drivers are paid for transporting passengers to weddings and proms.

Colin Parr, Head of Governance, said: "There are exemptions for weddings and funerals but for other activities where you have got a vehicle with a driver - what we call 'hire for reward' - there needs to be a licence.

"We have had Audis and BMWs but we believe this to be the first supercar licensed as a private hire vehicle in the country."
