Smoke screen fills Oldbury Matalan
Staff at a Matalan store in Oldbury had a shock when they were greeted by an unexpected smoke screen as they opened up for business this morning.

The smoke, which is believed to have been prompted by the alarm system at the Portway Road store, is meant to act as a security fogging solution that reduces the likelihood of theft.
Oldbury fire station were alerted to the unusual incident at around 9.30am and tweeted: "A surprise for staff of @Matalan #Oldbury as they opened-up this morning! Just a security system false alarm though."
No one experienced any breathing difficulties from the smoke and no theft or attempt to enter the store had taken place.
