Wolverhampton to Birmingham trains delayed for Friday travellers

Commuters faced delays after a signalling problem caused disruption to journeys from Wolverhampton to Birmingham today.

Trains were expected to be delayed until around 4pm with a reduced service from Wolverhampton to Birmingham New Street via Sandwell & Dudley.

Some trains were cancelled or diverted via Bescot Stadium, which delayed services for up to 20 minutes.

Earlier this month commuters again faced long delays after train services were disrupted, which held back services on the Liverpool Lime Street to Birmingham New Street route - disrupting trains running through Coseley, Wolverhampton, Penkridge and Stafford by up to 50 minutes.

Trains in Tipton, Dudley Port, Sandwell & Dudley, Smethwick also suffered heavy delays.
