The westbound carriageway of the motorway was closed around Telford for two hours after a collision between the lorry and a Vauxhall Astra at around 4pm.

The road was shut between junctions four and five, with traffic queued past Shifnal toward Junction three, as well as around Stafford Park toward Telford Town Centre.

Highways England had cleared the road and reopened all lanes by 6pm.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said no one was trapped after the accident and one man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
