The unfortunate white van joins an increasingly long list of vehicles that have become stranded at Trescott Ford, despite road signs warning drivers.

Signs next to the ford on Furnace Grange Road tell drivers to check the water depth before crossing and warn that many vehicles are recovered every year.

One such vehicle was a car that was very nearly fully submerged in flooding last August.

The wet weather saw cars stranded across the Midlands, where nine flood warnings were in place.

In Staffordshire, a crash on the M6 between junctions 12 and 13 caused major delays for motorists, while stranded drivers had to be rescued in Kidderminster and Solihull.

Emergency services took to Twitter to warn motorists of the risks of driving in wet weather.
