'Any chance you could pick up Floyd Mayweather?' Knockout launch for supercar hire firm

"We need a favour, any chance you could pick up Floyd Mayweather for us?"

That was the call that launched a new supercar hire firm in the Black Country.

And after delivering the pound for pound king – their first-ever customer – safely to Bar Sport in Cannock in a Rolls Royce Phantom for his evening talk, Celebrity Supercar Hire was then asked to deliver another boxing superstar to the same venue on Thursday – Chris Eubank.

Co-owner Heidi Warke, aged 30 of Essington, said: "I never actually got the call myself, somebody who knows my husband called him and said 'We need a favour, we know you have some nice cars, any chance you could pick Floyd Mayweather up for us?'

"Needless to say he didn't even ask me, he just said yes 100 per cent straight away, it would be a privilege.

"I think if the call hadn't been from someone we know, we would have thought it was a hoax call, maybe someone winding us up."

Fighting talk – Floyd Mayweather arrives at Bar Sport, Cannock

Earlier this year Mrs Warke, along with sister-in-law Melissa Warke, launched Special Wedding Cars, at Queen Square, Wolverhampton, after being inspired by her own nightmare experience.

Her own wedding day, the occasion she had dreamed about and wanted to be perfect, was almost ruined when a hire car firm called her to say they were unable to deliver the Rolls-Royce Phantom that she had ordered.

Determined the same would not happen to others she set up her own company acquiring more than £1 million worth of high-end cars from Range Rovers to Lamborghini's.

But when Mayweather suffered a last minute cancellation Wolverhampton's own boxing hero Richie Carter, who had been involved in arranging the Money Man's gig, made a last ditch call to Heidi's husband David who he knows.

Mr Warke said: "Of course we said yes. We had weddings booked in already but they were months on advance so we haven't actually delivered on them yet. Mayweather ended up being our first customer.

We literally set the website up while we were on the M6 Toll on the way to pick Mayweather up from the airport."

Having impressed the Las Vegas boxing king and his 26-man entourage he said business for the company has 'snowballed' – including picking up Eubank for his own after-dinner talk at Bar Sport.

Mr Warke added: "Mayweather was really great, he went out of his way to be friendly. I was really surprised. Chris Eubank was good as well, but a very different person from Floyd Mayweather."
