Boy, 13, charged over Birmingham stabbing

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with robbery and assault causing grievous bodily harm after a teenage girl was stabbed in Birmingham.

The 17-year-old girl suffered a cut to her thigh in the incident in Nursery Road, Lozells, on January 15. She needed hospital treatment and her mobile phone was stolen.

While in custody, the 13-year-old local boy was also charged with a further robbery at a convenience store on Dudley Road on January 18, where the shopkeeper was threatened with a knife.

The teenager appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday and was remanded to appear at Crown Court at a later date.
