The two drivers of the vehicles, both women, suffered minor injuries.

Waterloo Road, which runs alongside Molineux's Billy Wright Stand, was closed to drivers and pedestrians for several hours after the crash and led to Wolves' league match against Fulham being delayed.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Steve Newbury, from West Midlands Police's Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a busy road and, although we have spoken to several witnesses, I would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

"Our thoughts remain with the family of the lady who lost her life."

Anyone with information should call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
