A wheelchair from Wycombe Wanderers made its way back to a pub in the West Midlands after their FA Cup tie against Aston Villa.

A Villa fan had requested to use the wheelchair during the game at Wycombe's Adams Park on Saturday afternoon, but a photograph of it in the Marston Green Tavern, in Station Road, Marston Green appeared on social media over the weekend.

Solihull Police are now in possession of the wheelchair and it will be collected by a volunteer and safely returned to the club in Buckinghamshire.

Matt Cecil, head of media and marketing at Wycombe, said the club did not know whether it was taken maliciously or by mistake after the third round tie, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

In a statement Wycombe said: "Wycombe Wanderers can confirm that a wheelchair which belongs to the club was removed from Adams Park during the FA Cup third round tie with Aston Villa on Saturday.

"The wheelchair was requested by a visiting supporter before the match but was not returned to the club's possession, and was later found in a pub in the Birmingham area.

"The club would like to thank those Aston Villa fans who reported its whereabouts and are pleased to confirm that a Wycombe Wanderers supporter has volunteered to collect the wheelchair and return it to Adams Park."
