Work to replace gas pipes in Wood Lane, close to where it meets Greets Green Road, were originally scheduled to last until January 29 - but will now run into February.

The National Grid scheme to dig up old metal gas pipes and replace them with more durable, plastic pipes began on Tuesday.

It said the work was now due to end on February 1.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place until then, expected to cause delays for motorists heading into the town centre.
